Discussing the Final Review of Landscape Work: Checking the Current Plan

Filed by @rgalmanzalandscapenotes

A final review is easier to organize when the current scope and agreed changes are available together. Use them to discuss the completed work and the information that accompanies the handoff.

Bring the current documents

Identify the proposal, selections and written changes that describe the agreed work. Keep older versions for reference without treating them as the current instruction. Use the same area descriptions that appeared in the brief.

Ask about remaining questions

Discuss any item that needs clarification and record the response. Keep a question about appearance separate from a task that remains in the written scope. Avoid treating an informal recollection as the only record of a changed decision.

Collect the care information

Ask for the agreed instructions that relate to new planting or materials and clarify ongoing responsibilities. Keep later maintenance arrangements separate unless included. Save the handoff information with the project record for future reference.

Keep the next decision clear

A brief remains useful when priorities landscape design planning change if the revision is recorded clearly. Explain the new priority, identify any affected selections and compare the updated proposal with that revised purpose.
